5 Star Review Great VCR Machine!

Strengths:

N/A

Weaknesses:

N/A

Posted Jan 14, 2006 - Although I received this machine just yesterday and have used it only two days, I am extremely pleased with the quality that Sony put into it. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a machine to play/record only VHS tapes. I bought it as a backup unit for when my current VCR dies. I believe in having separate DVD and VCR units; when part of a combo unit breaks, you're left without both when awaiting repairs.

5 Star Review Sony SLV-N750 VCR Review

Strengths:

Works great as the backup for VCR tapes that you have not put onto DVD yet.

Weaknesses:

Some say that the keys on the remote are small but it hasn't been too much of a problem.

Posted Mar 28, 2006 - I had bought this VCR as a backup for VCR tapes that have not been converted to DVD yet. Works really and it appears to reliable. I would recommend this to someone.

Strengths:

Easy to use; good quality for the price. Picture with the ep setting is very good. quasi-svhs lets you watch svhs tapes (with vhs quality)

Weaknesses:

Build quality could be better - very light - not much substance, but, I quess the usual for the price range.

Posted Dec 14, 2004 - Overall the n750 is very good; it is I believe the lowest priced vcr SONY now makes, and has many good features (commercial skip, fast rewind, good heads). I am satisfied with the purchase - I wanted a good cheap vcr that will not break the first week and thats what I got.

Strengths:

Looks great, good picture quality, simple operation, front inputs, doesn't feel cheap

Weaknesses:

None

Posted Jan 23, 2005 - It's becoming harder to find a decent VCR now that everything is moving to DVD so I was glad to find this Sony. The others I looked at seemed like they wouldn't take the hard use that comes with kids who inevitably learn how to operate the unit on their own. I have no complaints about the SLV-N750. Get it while you can.

Strengths:

Picture quality and fast rewind.

Weaknesses:

Manual controls on the machine...a little cheap feeling.

Posted Mar 28, 2005 - I bought this unit to go with my new entertainment center. It had the same Sony style to go with other Sony products including receivers & DVD players etc..It does have a very good playback picture quality. And the remote is nice but should have been a universal type not a TV/VCR. Nobody has just those products anymore.

Strengths:

Excellent Picture, Easy to adjust

Weaknesses:

None

Posted Mar 22, 2005 - On my previous VCR the speed started to vary. It would no longer play or record in the SP mode and in EP the speed and recordings would sometimes vary. With this VCR we have been able to view the tapes that had been recorded, but were difficult to view. Although cheaper machines were available, we decided to get the SONY as we expect it to be our last VCR. We have been very pleased with the recording, playback, and other operations. The recording made on it are excellent. I would recommend this to anyone interested in a good VCR.

5 Star ReviewThis has to be the best VCR I have ever owned. ...

Strengths:

Commerial Skip / Replay button

Weaknesses:

None I can find yet.

Posted Jan 26, 2005 - This has to be the best VCR I have ever owned. I am sure that a few years back this must have sold for well over $200.00 before VCR's went out of style with the release of DVD Players. I really like the Commericial Skip function as well as the 10 sec. Replay button on it. I'm a Sony FAN hands down you just can't go wrong.... Sony everything, TV, DVD, Monitor, Vaio Laptop & now this wonderful VCR to round off my Entertainment center.

4 Star Review Sony SLV-N750 VCR

Strengths:

The picture is very good. Super fast rewind. Easy programing.

Weaknesses:

Remote is not compatible with the Symphonic TV that I use with the VCR. (Same for the RCA that it replaced.) Unit initially made a loud humming sound when playing tapes. Eject/reinsert stopped it.

Posted Nov 27, 2005 - Remote is not compatible with the Symphonic TV that I use with the VCR, so I have to use 2 remotes. (Same problem wit the RCA that it replaced.) Unit initially made a loud humming sound when playing tapes. Eject and reinserting the same tape stopped it.

4 Star Review Sony still great

Strengths:

Easy Setup. Playback quality great. Lightweight.

Weaknesses:

Remote control layout, size of unit.

Posted May 14, 2006 - I decided to go with Sony again as I had no troubles with my previous VCR. This VCR will be mainly used to convert my VHS to DVD. Took it out of the box and the setup was just easy and simple. Popped in an old vhs tape, the playback quality is great. Tracking was automatic. The remote build quality feels a bit cheap and the layout is not comfortable at all to me. For the task though, its recommended!
