Posted Dec 17, 2004 - I'm not impressed with DVI. I originally hooked up my HD cable box with the component-color cable that was supplied by Cablevision, and was totally impressed by HDTV. Changed over to the DVI400 cable and I haven't seen any major improvement. I have a relatively good eye for details, having had photgraphy for a hobby for the last 38 years, and I just haven't seen the reason for all the raving over DVI. Maybe after I experience it for a while, it'll come to me. But I've watched some shows in HD and there's no noticable difference.

Posted May 24, 2004 - I bought this cable w/ my new SONY 51inch Widescreen HD TV from BestBuy..however, I checked pricegrabber and they had it for $35 cheaper ($100 vs $65). It hooks from my HD Box directly to my HD TV. WHen you have a house party and people see that fatty cable stickin out from behind your Widescreen, they can see the bling, feel me?!?!

Posted May 28, 2004 - A must have for anyone with a setup that uses DVI. I'm using it to connect a Dell laptop to a Samsung 192MP monitor. I've connected the D-sub and the DVI cables, and there is no comparison...the DVI blows away the normal 15 pin hookup.

Posted May 4, 2004 - The product is outstanding and a must for anyone with HDTV. Without the DVI cable you are missing a significant improvement in the quality of the picture. The price the product is sold at on pricegrabber is much lower than any retailers and gets the same job done. This product is not a reccommendation it is a must for anyone with HD!

Posted Dec 11, 2004 - I had component video cables for my high definition satellite connection. I decided to upgrade to this DVI cable to enhance the already great high definition picture. It's hard to tell the difference, but it gives me peace of mind that I have the best connection possible for my HDTV.

Nominal Improvement that costs a fortune

Posted Mar 19, 2006 - I bought this cable to attach the HTPC to my 32" LCD Syntax Olevia. When I upgraded the video connection from the usual 15 pin VGA connection to a generic DVI (it came with an old LCD monitor of mine) cable, I could clearly see the picture becoming more saturated / colorful without changing any other settings. Upgrading further from my generic DVI cable to this one, however, it was difficult to see the improvement. I know BestBuy has a Monster Cable demo setup which shows the same movie on 2 same TVs played from the same DVD player, with only the cables being different. There it's very easy to see the difference, but now I'm suspicious about their setup. Furthermore, I'm sure with some more HDTV recalibration, I would've achieved the same results. Therefore at $100 for a 6.6' video cable, I wouldn't recommend the purchase unless you have cash to spare.

Posted Jun 23, 2005 - I bought this cable and now I am swapping out the cable box, the new one has a HDMI interface for which I already have a convertor cable I bought 6 months ago. I guess this one will sit around until I have a HD Dvd player and a DVI port switch.

Throw that basic VGA connetion away!

Posted May 4, 2006 - This DVI-D cable is a must have if you have a DVI connection on your graphic card and LCD monitor! You will see a major difference in colors and print and resolution size that will make you run and tell a friend! This is money that is well spent, I highly reccomend!
