MyHD PCI HDTV Tuner Card
Very easy install. Outstanding analog, digital & HDTV signals from both Cable TV & OTA inputs. Very good Remote and PVR capability.
QAM capability from Cable is weak and confusing. Needs better ability to record advance and repeated programs.
Posted Jun 10, 2006 - Installation was a breeze. Had no problems at all in connecting the system up and working on first try. It is very nice to have two inputs to connect Cable TV and my Over The Air antenna. I also split the outside antenna signal so that I could connect my VCR and programmed it as Analog Channel 3 so that I can also enjoy Video Tapes. Some of the local HDTV channels came in through the QAM tuner, but not much else. The channel numbering system was very confusing, but this could all be due to Time Warner Cable. I gave up on the Cable for the HDTV. However, an OTA antenna brought in all the local HDTV and digital signals with amazing clarity and I no longer use the Cable company for HDTV! I get a better picture and far more channels this way. It is a great tuner. The channel guide works great for the channels that are broadcasting such. However, the Titan TV connection, via the internet, works fine to tell me everything that is on. I like the ease of recording programs. The HDTV programs come through beautifully and I am only limited by the amount of hard disk space, which fortunately is very cheap these days. Would like to be able to program weekly shows and far into future without leaving my computer on all of the time. Perhaps I can hook up a timer, but would be nice to have the ability for the MyHD card to be able to do this. I used my regular sound board and an external amplifier with two large speakers for super sound. Have not as yet used the Digital sound or connected a Surround system, but very nice to know that I have the option. My old PC has now found a home as an entertainment center with far more capabilities than I thought...
