Great product when you finally get it to work

Strengths:

Very simple equipment, easy to operate, great picture.

Posted May 30, 2008 - If you are daunted by crashing computer systems you will need patience with installing the Ultimate Stick. It requires a bit of ingenuity to get to the point where your channels are saved and PCTV operates. Once there, you have an exceptional product. After installing from the software provided and experiencing multiple system related errors, I downloaded the latest version from Pinnacles' software. As to the final product, PCTV produces an exceptional picture, an easy to use interface for choosing and changing channels, and for saving your favorite stations. I am impressed with how easy it is to convert my screen to a TV, and the digital channels are remarkable.

great tv tuner

Strengths:

Great specs: high gain HDTV antenna, records in multiple formats (DivX, PSP, iPod, etc)

Weaknesses:

Needs powerful processor in order to view HD channels

Posted Dec 29, 2007 - Good HD over the air reception. Probably need greater than Pentium 4 2.4 Ghz for HDTV. Otherwise pixelation can occur and recordings can lose synchronization between video/audio. Pretty good specs for the price.

requiring fast computers to make it work

Strengths:

small form factor, QAM tuner, built-in storage

Weaknesses:

buggy software, very demanding on computer configurations

Posted Jan 18, 2008 - This would be a perfect gadget for a powerful computer, however, among the three relatively new computers I own, it only worked OK on the desktop PC. The pictures would be unwatchable on others, due to lags in decoding, regardlss ATSC or QAM tuning. The minimum requirement stated on the product manual is somewhat misleading, 'cause all my computers met the specs. The software kept generating errors and exceptions, which is kind of annoying.
