ATI ALL-IN-WONDER 9700 PRO Graphics Card

Strengths: It's quite sturdy, physically... Strong card.

Weakness: Doesn't work too well for viewing composite video output

I am a computer system builder, and have tried almost every all-in-wonder offering through these last years... In every case, from windows 98 to XP ATI has failed to make stable software or capable drivers. If you want a basic card that will record video, and are happy with the occasional crash and tackiness of user interface- if you don't mind buying from a company who's customer service # is a 1-900 (paid) call, then go ahead and take one for the team. Here's what ATI needs to do if they want to not make something as awful as this card: Bundle an established PVR like an intervideo, snapstream, or showshifter product... Focus on the drivers... Allow for variable over/underscan adjustments (to eliminate the black bars on top and bottom that occurs on EVERY ATI composite output display). You'll probably wind up buying this card, since you may think it's your only choice but if you expect reliability, you'll be disappointed. I'm currently looking into the Nvidia personal cinema, or maybe a combination of a WDM capable tuner card and a good way of converting SVGA or Svideo to composite. All in wonder cards are generally a nightmare to work with, and this one is no exception.

ATI ALL-IN-WONDER 9700 PRO Graphics Card

Strengths: YEs this might be one of the most powerfull video cards for home users, but I got to say im disapointed!!!

Weakness: Every game i ran it keeps on freezing up !!!

Well Lets say I play Counter Strike or quake or any other 3rd person shooting game. I play for a while and than without no reason my PC freezes up. I'm running Windows Xp Professional on: (Pentium 2.4 Ghz, 1024 MB of RAM,ASUS 8x AGP motherboard etc.) I have downloaded the newest drivers that ATI may offer on their web side and still same scenario happens to my PC. I spoke to many people about this they seem to giving me ideas, but none of them worked. I'm just hoping for ATI to work on their drivers much better before they expose them to their customers.

Few more things, the event viewr shows nothing, but yes i had once an error message regarding my videocard, but It was a while ago and I can't remember now.

ATI ALL-IN-WONDER 9700 PRO Graphics Card

Strengths: Speed, speed, speed. Great 3D. Amazing gaming. Did I say this card is FAST!

Weakness: Problems for me with the TV Tuner. Poor picture quality and won't pick up all my cable channels (1-6). Issues with the packaged Studio 8 Software by Pinnacle. Runs HOT.

As a 3D gaming card this baby is SWEET.

I have a MIS K7N2 with a 1.3 Duron. No problems with the install on a clean XP Pro Sp1. The remote is great for DVDs but the mouse cursor moves slow even on the fastest setting.

I haven't had success with the quality of the TV tuner. It doesn't pick up all my channels and those it does don't look near as good as plugging directly into the TV. Since I've not worked with a TV tuner before I don't know how great of quality you can have with a tuner card though.

The record feature (the mini TIVO) would be awesome if I could get a better picture. However, my issues might be with the cable splicing in my home(we have cable and DSL) and not the card -- still if it comes to my TV it should come through the card!

The card is buggy with the bundled Studio 8 software. DV capture is good but having a lot of problems with Analog (VHS) capture. The ATI and Pinnacle partnership is a new one so I hope they will work this out.

As for gaming this thing is AMAZING. Great scores on 3D Mark2001 and Morrowind looks INCREDIBLE. Other games as well.

If you're looking for THE gaming card this is it (well the 9700 series at least). I will be THRILLED with the AIW if I can get the tuner to function, and Pinnacle and ATI get the video capture/compatibility issues fixed. Otherwise the regular 9700 would have been a better for me. Even a GeForce card for gaming and a good video capture card -- so the jury is still out on the AIW.

ATI ALL-IN-WONDER 9700 PRO Graphics Card

Strengths: Remote control, beautiful graphics, fast application switching.

Weakness: Overheats my tower and the fan is noisey.

The ATI 9700 All in Wonder is an excellent video card. It's rare that I find a game that can slow this puppy down.
I did have to rearange my PCI cards and add a fan to keep my tower cool.
The graphics are worth it.
The original drivers were very buggy, but ATI's updates fixed it right up.
I'm very happy with this card.

ATI ALL-IN-WONDER 9700 PRO Graphics Card

Strengths: Better quality than what i had

Weakness: installation

Originally i was after the FX series cards that bombed. So ATI took its place.I just happend to be building a new system at the time that needed a very good video card. P4 2.8 , Asus P4G8X deluxe MB ,SounbBlaster AudigyII Platinum , LogitechTHX Surround Sound,2 High Speed Western Digital 80G HD, Dual Boot WIN98 , XP .SONY CD-Rw , Sony DVD player.Corsair DDRII PC 2700 LL memory ,ANTEC 500 wat PS.I had alot of headaches installing this card with the crappy CD drivers. Not to mention the Fast writes conflict with the the MB chipset.Multiple Crashing lock up s etc...But once the developers got to work on the drivers (FINALLY) The card screams.Everyone complained about the Dustbuster but ATI wasnt up to par at the time either. All said and done its a very good card that needs a bigger heatsink. Some of my Madonion 3DMark scores 800x600x32 defaults 16800
640x480x16 18500 , 1040x720x32 15490.Well worth the money just be prepaired :)

ATI ALL-IN-WONDER 9700 PRO Graphics Card

Strengths: Ease of set up. Multimedia Center software is well thought out and user friendly.

Weakness: Had to go to the ATI web site and get the latst drivers before it became fully functional. Even on fast setting the remote mouse is sluggish.

Follow the directions. I swapped cards and was operational in under 30 minutes. Check the ATI site for updated drivers. TV and DVD are sharp. Business and graphic applications have good definition as well. However I'll have to buy the right game to allow this card to really flex it's muscles.

ATI ALL-IN-WONDER 9700 PRO Graphics Card

Strengths: Remonte control for changing chanells Brute force with Rodeon 9700 PRO chip

Weakness: none

Just got this card, this is fabulous video card. It worked fine out of the box, very easy installation only 3 minutes and my card was already playing.
It is all in one, no need to buy special hardware for your computer like video editing or analog or digital inputs or outputs this video card has it all. Also remote control works fantastic, I don’t have to aim to the computer to change channels or control volume.
The remote works on radio waves signal so it can reach the computer thrugh the walls, really cool stuff. I think it is the most advance video card build so far.
If you looking for performance (games) or make special movies sequence, wedding or home videos, with cool special effects, you’re searching days are over.

ATI ALL-IN-WONDER 9700 PRO Graphics Card

Strengths: Good performance. Video Capture up to 720x480@30fps. Remote Wonder

Weakness: My Card has an NTSC TV tuner. And doesnt work with PAL broadcasts. So its kind of Frustrating why ATI doesnt make its cards Multisystem. So i cant use the TV tuner yet.

Works pretty well. Get 5080 3DMarks in 3Dmark03 with a P4A 2.4ghz & 512mb PC2100 RAM. The main problem here is that TV doesnt work because of my PAL region. Performance is Pretty good even with 4xAA and 16xANISO enabled, which is the main reason one should buy the R300 anyway. Free remote wonder + Variety of Video inputs and Outputs as well. The reason one should buy this card is because of the Combination of 3D performance and Video.

ATI ALL-IN-WONDER 9700 PRO Graphics Card

Strengths: Works fine! I saw a nice speed increase over the standard 6-3-3-2.5 memory I was using and as far as installing it; it was a Perfect fit!

Weakness: none

Works fine! I saw a nice speed increase over the standard PC2100 6-3-3-2.5 memory I was using and as far as installing it; it was a Perfect fit! I've seen some memory modules that were very (excessively) tight fitting!

This card is great. For your money, you get a video card, a capture device, a PC remote, and a DVR all combined in one product.

ATI ALL-IN-WONDER 9700 PRO Graphics Card

Strengths: Fast, Dependable, Great Software Bundle. It's quiet, and the DVD player works great (got to love transparent NMovies while working). Has HDTV cables, remote, Morrowind, Pinnicle Studio, ect.

Weakness: No documentation for Included game of Morrowind. TV quality could be better. Needs to include CD audio cable for connection to Sound card internally. Needed newer drivers to get it to work right.

This card has been great. Fast, dependable and we can't even test out most of it's capabilities until games come out. To all users, go to ATI.com, click developers and see what the card can do, look under Demos, and Screensavers, the 9800 Demos work great in the card too. However, The card could include a CD-Audio cable for internal sound card connections. Only real faults. Great card.

ATI ALL-IN-WONDER 9700 PRO Graphics Card

Strengths: 3d mark2003 very high marks! 4410

Weakness: crashes in game

I recently had a 7500 All in wonder and since it was my birthday and the 9700 pro all in wonder was available.. i said what the heck.. Little did i know that it would be a $400 bill that i could have saved.. Sure the graphics look better but whenever i play a game just like the first guy says.. my computer totally locks up on me and i have completely unplug the puter for it to reboot.. I'm talkin major lockup! The game is battlefield 1942 and my 7500 AIW played it just fine. thought i could get a better load time or all around better gfx by upgrading but i can't tell a difference really.. except that it locks up on me.. My specs are AMD Athlon XP 2200+,MSI mobo 8x agp,512mb ddr pc2100,soundblaster live 5.1 platinum. Every since changing too my screen flixers alot especially on black screens. it's TERRIBLE! anyways.. save your money and get a 7500.. seems like the same card except suped up some on speed.. Deffinitely not worth $400..
