Duet 8300

Strengths: Cleans well. Low water use.

Weaknesses: Out of control vibration and movement.

My first Duet 8300 came crashing out of my laundry room. It broke a door off the hinges and smashed a light switch. The service man the store in which I purchasing the washer told me there was nothing he could do to stop the vibration. The store brought me out a new washer a week later. They said the first one must be faulty. The second one, on the third wash knocked a hole in the laundry room wall and shook the walls in my house so badly a large picture frame in the living room fell off the wall.

Personally, Im tired of paying good money for junk. Whirlpool told me the only real fix for the problem is to not use the pedestal.

Hi Kylebrown,

I had similar problems. I to have a pedestal as well.

Check the adjustable legs on the pedestal. make sure the locknuts are tightened up against the pedestal. This is shown in the pedestal installment manual . I think on page 4.

I had a tech come to my house for one of my freezers. i told him about how much vibration there is and the how the machine moved forward. He tightened the locknuts for me.

A good point he made was even if you balance the machine at rest it should also be balanced when it is in a spin.

I got 3 bath towels and put them in and set the machine on rinse/spin. He waited until it went into the spin and he then adjusted the machine for me.

Since doing this I haven't has anymore problems.
