Strengths:

Very stable operating system - moderate install difficulty

Weaknesses:

Difficult to network with a broadband wireless router and PCI card - needed Microsoft technical support to complete.

Posted Mar 29, 2005 - This is my second Win XP Pro purchase -- a necessity to ensure my primary and secondary computer had the same OS. Prior, the secondary computer was an Me OS trying to network with the primary computer with XP Pro. Other upgrade from Me to XP Pro advantages are the stable OS and Microsoft support. Me is no longer supported except on a fee basis for all inquiries. Best price at time of purchase was of course, a pricegrabber merchant.

5 Star Review Great Product

Strengths:

Same as normal XP Pro but at a cheaper price for students, can still do clean install even though its an upgrade.

Weaknesses:

none

Posted Jul 21, 2005 - Great Product. Would recommend. I have installed Windows XP on many different computers and this particular version of Windows was no different than any other version I have installed. If you like Windows and you are eligible for the Academic upgrade than this is a good buy for you.

5 Star ReviewOverall, so far so good, no problem with the opera ...

Strengths:

Allows to download and use new applications like iTunes.

Weaknesses:

Takes an hour and a half to install. Two attempts unsuccessful -- Fatal Error message. Third attempt OK.

Posted Jan 18, 2005 - Overall, so far so good, no problem with the operating system. Many applications work much faster than under Win Me. I will probably need to upgrade the RAM memory from 128 MB to 256 MB now as well.
