AlexanderAkulick - (April 16, 2005) Installs easily just as the original MS Windows XP Professional did without the need for extended updating from the MS Windows site. Really of no great advantage over previous versions except for the SP2 update, but remember the update is available free. The time saved for an Internet update download or Microsoft's free disk upgrade to SP2 is all that is saved. The firewall and added security included in SP2 is of benefit to those not using antivirus or firewall programs. Happily, It shuts down easily in favor of purchased programs for this, to prevent conflicts. AlexanderAkulick - (August 14, 2003) I have read the good and the cheesy comments here and I USE multiple Windows and Linux OS platforms as well as others without problem. This is a very user-friendly software and one of the easiest to use even for a beginner. It is the most compliant system for hardware recognition and installation, having more imbedded drivers than any other OS. It has been designed to become a part of your entertainment and work environment and it does so. With over 30 yrs. computer experience I can speak with authority when I say, "This is a good product and well worth the price and time not only for a new system but even for an upgrade of an older OS.".

HTEDoctor - (February 01, 2003) The current flaw with the selling of liscenses only is that Microsoft will batch out the product ID's with certain CD Roms. No one product ID code will allow you to install windows with any CD you may have and most likely the Product ID will be incompatible with the CDRom that you currently have.

mohi4117 - (11/27/2009) Windows XP is a better software than Vista. Windows Vista slows down the computer. Windows vista is a flop and that is why people prefer going back to Windows XP.

fran954 - (11/03/2009) Do a complete install format to ntfs and there will be no problems most people have problems with the upgrade versions or formatting to fat32

campbem - (09/25/2009) Overall I'm happy with my purchase of Windows XP from SoftwareMedia.com. Their price was good but it must have been on sale. Their web site was flakey, as it kept crapping out on my as I was going thru the purchase process. It literally took me about 5-6 attempts to get all the way thru the checkout process. I almost just gave up and went with another vendor. Not sure what the problem was, but it certainly wasn't my computer as I don't have issues with other sites purchasing items. Thanks softwaremedia!
