4 Star ReviewTiVo Wireless G USB Network Adapter for Series2 DVR
Strengths: Compatiblity, Form-factor
Weaknesses: Price
Summary: When I wanted to replace my current B adapter for my TiVo in hopes of improving range and bandwidth, I decided to go with TiVo's own brand. Overall this adapter met my expectations. There are less expensive alternatives, but I wanted one that had a strong chance of being compatible with the upcoming Series3 devices promised to be coming out later this year. The device has a very neat form-factor and feels solid when you hold it. Signal strength is better than my old B adapter, but I expected better from a G device. Performance is definitely improved. Viewing pictures on my TiVo is much snappier. The device came with easy to following installation instructions. It took about 5 minutes to connect and start using.

5 Star ReviewTiVo Wireless USB adaptor (AG0100)
Strengths: 1 minute to install and setup and my Tivo Series 2. Signal strength consistently 60% - 70% (Good). Replaced Netgear usb WG111 (usually "Poor" signal strength.)
Weaknesses: Only usable with TiVo - Windows and Linux don't recognize the device as a wireless adaptor.
Summary: Well worth it for the specific purpose of connecting your TiVo Series 2 wirelessly. Don't expect to use this adaptor for non-TiVo systems. Shop for prices - I found a deep discount.

5 Star ReviewFast, but expensive
Strengths: Looks cool, nice 802.11g (fast)! Great reception.
Weaknesses: Expensive
Summary: I was using an 802.11b solution, which was free after rebate. It was really slow and frustrating to transfer shows from my TiVo to my desktop, so I was glad to see there was finally an 802.11g solution. I really didn't care for the price though! But, after getting a $10 coupon from Buy.com (they're currently selling this unit for $5 less than retail) and using the $5 bonus rebate from PriceGrabber, I thought I'd take the plunge. I'm glad I did! Transfers are so much faster now. It's definitely worth the upgrade from 802.11b!

5 Star ReviewTiVo wireless adapter... works great!
Strengths: Quick connection to network, sleek design.
Weaknesses: Sleek design, but could be less bulky. Annoying cord.
Summary: When trying to find an adapter for my Series 2 TiVo, I had nothing but problems trying to match models on the TiVo website and the usb adapters currently in stores. After ordering 2 off of amazon (both of which turned out to be uncompatible), I decided to spend the extra $10 on this one. An excellent purchase, since it connected to my network immediately as soon as I plugged it in. It is a bit bulkier than the compact usb adapters that are available, and there is a cord that connects from the TiVo to the adapter, but as for the quality of the connection, it is excellent. I can finally use the extra features of the TiVo that are unavailable if using a standard phone line! Highly recommend.

5 Star Reviewa breeze to install
Strengths: quick installation, guaranteed compatability
Weaknesses: NA
Summary: when researching which wireless adapter to buy for my tivo, i found that most of the compatible adapters (www.tivo.com/adapters) were in the same price range. further research showed me that the tivo branded adapter was backed by positive reviews at amazon as well as price grabber.

Installation was simple. the adapter is essentially plug and play. would certainly reccomend this unit to anybody looking to add wireless capabilities to their tivo unit.

5 Star ReviewGreat Product
Strengths: Ease of Install, Speed of Transfers
Weaknesses: Price
Summary: I purchased my first Tivo a few years ago and started using a "Tivo Approved" Linksys adapter for my connection instead of using the phone line. The connection was faster than using the phone line but still very slow. I just purchased my second Tivo and decided to give this Tivo adapter a try even though it cost a little more than the other adapters that are available. It was very easy to install and I did not have any problems that I read about some of the "Tivo Approved" adapters having. The speed at which it connects and downloads information is much faster than with my Linksys adapter. I was impressed with this adapter so much that I decided to purchase one for my original Tivo and get rid of the Linksys adapter I had been using. Now the transfer speed between the two Tivos is much quicker. I was also impressed with the signal strength. The new adapter is in the same area as my original adapter was but the strength is always in the 70% -80% range. My old adapter was usually in the 20% - 30% range. It is definitely worth the extra money to purchase this adapter and not have to deal with some of the aggravation that some have experienced with some the "Tivo Approved" adapters.

4 Star ReviewGreat
Strengths: Good reception
Weaknesses: Expensive No WPA
Summary: My Linksys wireless adapter stopped working and it's a pain to get a wireless adapter that you know will work with your TiVo, so I gave this one a shot. Works great, only wish TiVo would support WPA through it.

5 Star ReviewTivo Wireless Cards
Strengths: Easy installation, small form factor
Weaknesses: Gets warm
Summary: I have a series 2 tivo and have had alot of trouble getting a wireless card to work reliably. I had a linksys one before and it would cause the tivo to randomly reboot. This one was detected as soon as I plugged it in and has been working great for the past week and a half. My tivo hasnt crashed and the signal strength is great. This was the easiest purchase as alot of the other supported cards require looking at the sn of the card. This is very hard to do when you're ordering the card online.

1 Star Reviewtivo adapter
Strengths: automatically found network
Weaknesses: could not connect with network
Summary: looked easy enough, hook up to usb, go through tivo menu to connect. it found our network but would not connect to it. i am exchanging this for another, maybe that will solve the problem, or maybe i am missing something. i put in all the adresses, etc but still does not work.

1 Star Review
Strengths: When plugged in and with weak WEP or WAP security, it seems to work ok, although its a bit slow to transfer...but that might be related to Tivo limitations.
Weaknesses: Doesnt work with my company's required router security settings...I now need to use wire. Slow transfers. Would be nice if I could use it as a normal USB network adapter since I own it now, but I will need to resell it to someone who has tivo which is
Summary: It's probably a decent product. The proprietary nature turns me off, as does Tivo's restrictions on transfer speed. not working with advanced WAP is inexcusable, but typical of electronics of late.
Thank you for the valuable feedback!

5 Star Review
Strengths: Great product if you have a wireless network.
Weaknesses: None
Summary: You need to know your network Secure ID if it is a protected network. We do not have a land line phone so this is the only way to keep our TIVO activated. This is the second one I use since we have 2 TIVOs. Works without issue once you set it up. Great product.

4 Star ReviewTivo Wireless G adapter
Strengths: guaranteed to work with Tivo, faster than phone line
Weaknesses: price, bulky
Summary: shopping for a compatible usb adapter is a real pain. The web site lists mostly wireless b and most stores don't have them. I tried buying an adapter at the store but it didn't work so I decided to finally buy the TiVo brand to avoid the hassles.

5 Star ReviewTivo USB Network Adapter
Strengths: Small size, easy set up with the Tivo
Weaknesses: Cost (but barely)
Summary: After trying a different network adapter for use with my Tivo, I gave up and bought the "official" Tivo adapter. The only thing that stopped me from buying it before was that I thought I could go with a cheaper option. Unfortunately, the other option didn't quite work out. The Tivo adapter is really small in size, and the set up couldn't be easier - just plug the usb cord in and you're ready to go. My tivo found my home network without problem, and now I'm up and running on some of Tivo's cooler functions. I couldn't be happier with this item.
