bzgnyc - (October 18, 2004) I've now installed three WGR614v3 and one WGR614v4 routers. The first (a WGR614v3) worked perfectly -- it was so easy I didn't know what to do and it worked well. I bought two more -- and also got v3 models even though the website suggests that v4 and v5 were already in the field. That might have been for the best since the one v4 router that I tried seems deficient. I only had problems with one of the WGR614v3 routers. It had the annoying habit of freezing -- especially under extended Internet load such as viewing streaming Quicktime movies. Sometimes it would happen after 20 or 30 minutes and other times I wouldn't experience the problem for several days. After finally c

hsimms - (April 27, 2004) The only problems I have had with this router were in set-up. Be sure to download the latest firmware BEFORE you install the router. I tried to set mine up and it would not let me connect to the internet after the setup process. I tried taking it out of the system, but it had changed some settings in the setup process and I couldn't find the changes. I still could not access the internet even though I was connected directly to the cable modem. I downloaded the latest firmware from another computer and installed it. Everything then worked fine. Do pay attention to the recommendations regarding placing the router. Initially, I placed mine on a shelf on my printer cart that was ju

ehalbritter - (July 25, 2004) I'm a 5 year veteran in IT. Although I prefer a CLI to the GUI interface, this is simple enough for the non-technical. I decommissioned my Cisco AP340 for the Linksys WRT54G to take advantage of the 3-in-1 (Access point, router, 4 port switch). Don't bother with the CD setup - simply plug in all periphials and follow the set-up fold out provided. -Wireless network- -works with Cisco 350 Client adapters for laptops -works with the Dell 1100 compact flash wireless adapter -DHCP server works flawless -Wired network- -Same as above (minus the wireless network cards) 1. Quick hint for the all (technical and non-technical) ALWAYS update the latest firmware available fro

TimBo911 - (11/19/2009) It is a great router. It has worked flawlessly since install. I would highly recommend it to anyone. Right out of the box it was attractive and provided an appearance that blended well on my desk. I use this in my place of business and with the security features it is shared with 3 other users who love it.

rst1969 - (11/16/2009) I bought my router in May. Up until about two weeks ago, I had no problem. Then, I lost my connection. I disconnected my ethernet-connected computer directly to the modem and my internet was perfect. The problem is that my primary computer is the one that connects to the internet wirelessly. So, I called Linksys, reset the router updated some settings. Then, Sunday night I lost my connection again. This time, the computer was able to pick up the network but not the internet. So now, the wireless computer isn't wireless and I don't know if I even want a replacement.

chelaBOP - (11/10/2009) This device works for me from a downstairs back office to an upstairs front office. I can operate with both doors (cheap wood doors) closed, and get service when sharing the connection with other users around the house.
