3 Star Review Black Decker Workmate 425

Strengths:

Easy set up. Light weight. Two height settings.

Weaknesses:

Flimsy one hand clamp system. No adjustable feet.

Posted Feb 25, 2008 - The one hand clamp/clutch system does not work to well. I can see the pins that drive the plastic belt chain wearing out easily. Used for clamping 2 doors so far (using lower height setting by folding legs). Very stable if floor is even. No adjustable feet to remedy if not. Price paid ($70) for this workmate is on par. My workmate shipped fine. Box was a bit beaten up but no damages to workmate.

Strengths:

Portable & foldable bench

Weaknesses:

After several uses the clamp doesn't operate very well and doesn't clamp items tightly. Seems to come loose with vibration from my saw.

Posted Mar 8, 2008 - I purchased this because I needed a portable work bench to work on various projects from cutting wood to clamping car parts for repairs. I thought this would be handy but after several weeks of use I'm noticing that the bench doesn't clamp as good as it did when it was new and seems to come loose when I'm sawing or sanding.
