1 Star Review Don't even think about it

Strengths:

None, although random character generator can be funny

Weaknesses:

Too ugly to look at, monotonous, bad AI, Horrible avatars

Posted May 30, 2006 - This is the worst XBOX game ever. The graphics are terrible, the AI is sickly and the pacing is unbearable. There are many free online poker sites that provide better poker play than WCP, which is bogged down by an attempt to make virtual poker more real by having 3d players and tables. I was only able to play this game for about 5 minutes before I had to jump ship, and glue the game case shut for all eternity. I have not tried out the online capabilities, the game just isn't palatable. The only good thing about this game is the random character generator, especially the women. I had more than a few come out looking like the truck driver from Pee Wee's Big Adventure! They are are a funny yet revolting assault on your retinas. I would advise against this game at all costs, no matter how cheap it may be, or if it is the last game you need to complete an XBOX game collection or whatever. Don't Do It!

2 Star Review World Championship Poker

Strengths:

Online multiplayer

Weaknesses:

Weak computer AI, graphics aren't the greatest

Posted Apr 3, 2006 - World Championship Poker for the Xbox is a decent game if you are going to play online against other players. Other than that, I really can't recommend this game for people that are planning to play by themselves. The computer players make very stupid plays and the graphics in this game are borderline at best. If you are just looking for a cheap game to play against your friends online, give it a try, but with all the other poker games out there, there has to be something better for solo players.

3 Star Review Poker for Xbox Live.

Strengths:

Online play via Xbox Live adds a lot of replay value.

Weaknesses:

Dumb computer opponents, subpar graphics and presentation.

Posted Jan 18, 2006 - Another game that tries to cash in on the latest poker craze on TV. While I'm not a huge poker fan, I did enjoy playing this game. The biggest flaw has to do with the AI, as the computer isn't really smart. The way to alleviate this is to hop onto Xbox Live and play a human competitor online. This a great option, especially if there's no one around to play a game of cards with you. Although this is a good game to have, I must admit there are better and probably cheaper solutions (i.e. free) on the Internet if you want to get your poker fix.

2 Star Review One must wonder why

Strengths:

X Box Live

Weaknesses:

Are these real brains being used here in AI?

Posted Dec 23, 2005 - This game is great if you want to play with other people who are far away. Please don't try to play against the computer for competition. The AI on this is horrid. They need ot put in people who think

3 Star Review World Championship Poker

Strengths:

XBOX live

Weaknesses:

experienced lagtime, waiting for online game

Posted Jul 14, 2005 - World Championship Poker is fun if you like to play poker for fun. It has a fair amount of gametypes, you can choose if you just want to sit down and play a few hands or enter a tournament. I've sometimes experienced long waiting times for a game to get started on-line. All in All poker without losing real money.

3 Star ReviewThis is a great game if you want to play poker wit ...

Strengths:

Online play Multiple poker games

Weaknesses:

Weak graphics Lame AI

Posted May 24, 2005 - This is a great game if you want to play poker with some friends but you can't all be at the same place. Just fire it up, log on to Xbox Live and get your game going. Don't expect too much in terms of graphics and AI (for the times that you play solo) and you won't be too disappointed. They're already working on a sequel with pro poker player Howard Lederer, so you may want to wait for that to be released.
