Halo has always held a special place in my heart. First because it was the first game I ever played on the X-Box and secondly because it is what got me into first person shooters. I had never really liked them until Halo. Halo is great for a number of different reasons. The compelling storyline makes you want to sit back in your seat for hours on end and not stop. Weapons, vehicles, environments, enemies are all portrayed with excellent graphics, really showing off what the X-Box is capable of. I recommend this game to anyone who owns an X-Box. It is definetly one of my all time favorite games ever! GO HALO!

If you are into great games, this ones for you. Buy it, rent it, or just borrow it. Do anything you need to to get your hands on this game. The vehicles are great, so are the guns and enemies. I have had this game for five months, and I still play it almost every day. You will never tire of this game. This game has the amazing 16 player mode. Play 16 player halo, in the smallest arena, with no teams, and use rockets only. It is crazy. I would recommend this game for anyone who likes killing things in a first person shooter. If you like things going boom, then get this game at once. I got this game on a referral from a friend, if this game has not been suggested to you, I am suggesting it right now.

TopStrengths: Halo is probably the best game ever made untill halo2 that comes out June 1st. you may think that killing "things from outer space" is childish but in this game it really isn't

Halo's guns, characters, modes of transportation, traps, cooperative play, multiplayer with 2-16 people, and levels are great. It’s more life like in the since that you can carry only two guns and if you kill the Captain or too many of your alleys, all of your alleys will attack you. Oh yea I beat it in about 24 hours.
P.S.If you beat the last level on Legindary you see an unusual movie at the end it's something you wouldn't expect on a game like this.

Something I have not seen in any of the other reviews is mention of the link capibilities. Try hooking up 4 XBoxs and doing 16-player Halo. It will blow you away! No other game has this capibility. A bunch of friends of mine & I get together regularly and play 8, 10 and up to 16 player. Even with so many people playing the graphics are perfect, no slow downs.
The ability to create your own games makes it even better.

TopStrengths: Very cool two player mission's. I love the neat alien guns, and the gernades. If you like to drive a realistic vehicle you should drive the wort hog it is so much fun with two player.
Weakness: If there are I didn't look hard enough.
You start out in a crashed shuttle and your mission unvails from there. You will be asigned different objectives basicly saving other people from different times.

TopI cannot think of any flaws for this game. The graphics are stupendous and the AI and enemies are fantastic. I have not been as hooked on a single game since the Alien vs Predator for PC. If you have an XBox you must get this game.

Anyone who plays this game on easy or normal will think it's too short. Try heroic or legendary and you're in for the ride of your life. The only thing that sux about the harder difficulty is that your marines will get wasted even quicker. They help a little, but overall they suck. The storyline is freakin awesome. Graphics are amazing. PS2 and gamecube owners...SORRY. YOU WILL NEVER SEE THIS GAME ON YOUR SYSTEM. HAHAHAHAHAHA. YOUR PUNY MACHINE CANNOT HANDLE THE POWER OF THE 733 MHZ XBOX. Anyways, the vehicles are awesome. Its especially fun in multiplayer. 16 player lan is awesome. Music is bada$$. Voice acting is state of the art. PS2 and Gamecube will never have a game as good as Halo. They will be out of business when Halo 2 comes out cuz it will go triple platinum. For all you people who say this game sucks, go back and play a shi**y graphics game like GTA(looks like psone graphics to me), you stupid pu$$ies. Hardcore gaming is not for you. For those of you who try this game on legendary, god have mercy on your soul. Its worth the prolonged ending though.

TopStrengths: Multiplayer is the best I have to experience on a console. The sound is terrific. Weapons, armor, and aliens are well thought out. An incredible amount of detail. Excellent fun factor.
Weakness: Only a few things. The grunts speak ENGLISH! when I found that out the realism the game had to offer was diminished. Can be frustrating at times.
The sound is absolutely amazing. When you throw a grenade you can hear the dirt fall back to the ground. Room acccoustics are made with great detail. Small things such as the warthog lights staying on even when it is not dark, or, if you drop the assault rifle you can read how many rounds are still in the weapon if you zoom in with the sniper rifle! Bullets reflect off sheilds at the exact angle they hit.
It can become frustrating though. Such as, when you jump out of a vehicle you can fall off a cliff, or (I had this happen to me once or twice) when you get out of the banshee (the alien aircraft) it can actually crush you and kill you!
Other than that, the game has tremendous fun factor and is a must have for anyone who owns an xbox.

Weakness: Marines are pathetic. Covenant don't take cover. Jackals and elites just run back behind a rock. Not much cover. You can't count on the marines to help you.
Halo is still awesome. It needs Banshees 4 multiplayer though. Marines are to wimpy. hope those things i listed here and above will be improved in Halo 2. Other than that Halo really really is a good game. im not compaining or saying i dont like it its just to easy and to short! and hopefully there will be no library level next time.

I have played countless numbers of console games, and not one has stood up to halo. Every thing about it is perfect, almost, it just needed a few more weapons, and maybe some robot computers to play agianst in multiplayer mode when no one is over to play with you. Highly recomended.I give this game a 10 out of 5.

Halo is the best game ever created! If you think that this game is bad...then you should go and sit in a corner and count something. The weapons are awsome, graphics are very realistic, and the sound effects are very detailed. I've owned this game and played this game for three straight years and I'm still not bored of it. The only bad thing about it, is that even when you shoot people in the foot...they die. I dont think that anybody could die of getting shot in the foot once. The multiplayer simulation needs a com. to be able to compete against. But when you put all these things aside, you come out with the greatest game ever created! I can't wait until Halo 2 comes out!!!

Xbox is worth buying just to experience Halo!! Game play is amazing. When I bought it I was expecting another boring rendition of Unreal Tournament type of game. Was I supprised and completly blown away on what this game has to offer. I have litteraly spent weeks playing non stop and when I finished the game I started all over again trying different tactics and weapons. I'm amazed at the level of detail and the sound effects (the sound effects are the s-h-i-t! I've hooked it up to a nice souround sound with DTS decoder, when s-h-i-t explodes and bodies are flying everywhere you can hear glass rattling in the next room. Its all about the the SOUND!!!) Enemy AI is amazing, for example the way they react to your aggresivnes differently in higher settings. The chants only makes you wanting to kick their asses even more. GREAT, GREAT game!!! Words can't do it justice, you must experience Halo on your own. You have to try it for yourself. When Halo 2 comes out on June 1st its a MUST HAVE!!!!

a fairly long game if you put it on a harder level, instead of playing it on easy. The alien weapons are fun to use and goof around with. The marines need some target practice, but everything else was great.

i cant belive some1 who said they didn't like Halo! One day i went over my friends (had ps2) he had never played halo and said it looked dumb, i took him to my house and we started playing i couldn't get him to stop playing he loved it soooo much. I think x-box is better than ps2 too i have both systems and i dont get bored of halo even after i beat the game but in the best ps2 game (gta vice city which doesn't have enough missions)after i beat it and fooled around for like an 1 hour i totaly got bored of it but i never got bored of halo. By the way can't wait for halo 2 to come out this march!

The Only complaints I have are with some of the level design.Many times I find myself wondering if I had already been down that hallway or in that room.Besides that this is a great shooter with all the elements a good game has.You can only carry two weapons but it adds a strategical element lacking in other shooters like Doom and Quake{Still great games} where you run around with 13 different weapons killing everything in sight.This also adds realism to the fact you can't carry everyrthing.This game is a must have for almost any Xbox owner or FPS fan.I highly recommend Halo and it is worth every penny.

TopStrengths: Great use of X-Box's power, breathtaking scenery and plot, a FPS doesn't get any better than this (AT LEAST FOR THE XBOX!!), Multiplayer is very fun (plus you can make your own gametypes!).
Weakness: Some graphical lag here and there, loading times aren't the best (but the screen looks kind of cool), not enough variety in the monsters.
This is probably the best game out for X-Box so far. By far it will most likely be the best First Person Shooter out for X-Box. If you are looking for a first game for your new X-Box, start with Halo - It's a great game!!

Well designed and exacuted. Features multi-player split screen and link-up options. A purchase you wont regret. You get to pilot jeeps, tanks, multiple aircraft, use conventional and alien weaponry. The story is well done as well, with plot twists and surprises thrown in for good measure. It does contain some graphic material though(blood) which may not be suitable for young children, due to the nature of the game though.

I must say that Halo is an excellent game. I found myself playing for hours at a time at my cousins house. However, it is pretty much the only good game that is on the "boat-anchor" of a gaming system known as the X-Box. X-Box is so heavy that it outweighs my ten year old VCR, and that thing is pretty heavy! I just don't think that such a bulky and, in my opinion, pointless game console should be so lucky as to be graced by a game like Halo. As far as I'm concerned, X-Box is just a computer that plugs into your T.V. And even though PS2 continues to outsell X-Box and Gamecube combined, I'm sure your jumbo sized system will do just fine in the future. =)

Weakness: To much hype. Everyone said it was going to be awesome but I thought it was so-so.
Fun for the first 3 weeks, but after you beat it 3 times it gets redundant. Still, I wouldn't part with it. Oh I can't lie it was AWESOME I WISH THEY WOULD COME OUT WITH HALO II!!! The...EVERYTHING ROCKED MY WORLD!!!!!!

TopStrengths: Best FPS on a console. Controls are easy to master and enjoy. The graphics, story, environment, and artificial intelligence are great. It takse you out of this world and into the world of Halo
Weakness: The break between action may be long, you won't feel it. People that aren't playing will get impatient. Thats why you play multiplayer.
If you have XBox, this game is a mandatory must-have.
Even if you don't like fps, give this one a try. It will suck you in and keep you engrossed in the action.

Words cannot express this game. It is beyond any other game on the market, with fast paced gameplay and the most real-to-life physics in any game. Whats more, you can play with a friend in co-op mode, discover in huge environments, and fight the toughest AI ever created. Ive played quite a few Fps's, but this tops the cake. Im gonna be playing this for along time, or at least until halo 2. Happy shooting.
